10 Reasons Why Women Love Diamonds

Here are 10 Reasons Why Women Love Diamonds

Diamonds are the most desired gemstone worldwide, with women everywhere dreaming of owning their own sparkly stones one day- but why? It’s not like diamonds were the first (and definitely not the last) gemstone discovered, or even the easiest gemstone to work with. They are dull as raw gems, and hard to find in large sizes… so what exactly is it about a diamond that makes it so special?! Well, I have 10 of the best reasons why women love diamonds, proving that this great love affair is not only justified but truly deserved. Listen, if you are somehow not a diamond lover already (which, who doesn’t love diamonds???), there is no way after reading this article that you will still feel the same way!

10. Forms Naturally: as an Earth lover, one of my personal favorite things about diamonds is that they form naturally, very deep, within the ground (unless lab grown of course). The fact that something so beautiful is produced organically is really a gift to all of us.

9. Takes Millions of Years to Grow: and as if it wasn’t enough that diamonds develop naturally, it also takes them millions to billions of years to fully mature- which is a seriously crazy amount of time. Imagine everything that a diamond has seen next time you are holding one!

8. Pure Carbon: an especially unique feature of a diamond is that it is made of pure carbon. There are very few things in life that are completely composed of only one element- and this is one of them…

7. Any Color: but if another element does happen to sneak in while a diamond is forming, it can change the color of the diamond. Not every diamond color is caused by a trace element (like brown being produced by a physical defect), but the fact that all colors are possible is another fantastic reason to love a diamond even more.

6. Classic Gemstone: if asked to name the first few gems that come to mind, most people would probably answer with diamond, sapphire, ruby, and emerald as the top answers every time. Diamond is just one of those classic, OG gems that will forever have a timeless appeal.

5. Endless Designs: and being so timeless and elegant (plus having every color option to work with), diamonds can be used in any jewelry design- rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, hair clips, broaches… you get the idea. Plus, the ability to mix and match diamond accessories, or even wearing them all at once, will only elevate a look (and a person’s perceived status).

4. Prestige: speaking of status, diamonds can be pretty expensive gemstones- so not only does wearing multiple diamonds fancy up a look, they also add to the air of prestige of the person wearing them. Let’s face it- diamonds are fancy.

3. Hardness: being the hardest material on the planet is one of the main reasons that a diamond is so great. Only diamond can scratch diamond, which means most women can go their entire lifetime without ever damaging their beautiful stone.

2. Represents Forever: and because diamonds are so physically hard (along with some really, really great marketing), they have become a special gem that represents forever… and now an obvious choice as the most popular option for an engagement ring with that same lifelong promise behind it.

1. Brilliance: hands down, one of the best things about diamonds, and maybe the number one reason why women love diamonds, is their unmatched level of brilliance. No other gemstone, large or small, can compete with the vivid sparkles and pure radiance that a diamond can produce.

Okay in full disclosure, if you hadn’t already guessed, I am a big diamond lover myself. They are naturally produced, intensely brilliant, insanely hard bits of pure joy! Whether you love them for their look, their prestige, or their earthly origins- you are not alone. There are so many good reasons why women love diamonds, no matter who they are or where they are from, it makes total sense why diamonds are the world’s number one gemstone!
